WILD SWIMMING

Wild Swimming is a lovely cold water experience that will leave you feeling exhilarated and fresh. We offer guided wild swims, where you will be led in to the water by a wild swim coach and be given breathwork techniques to help you through. We also also have some trips where a trip is offered as a non guided activity. The wild swimming is best done in a swimsuit. We use different location across the Yorkshire Dales including; Wainwath, a location close to Sedbergh, Janet’s Foss and Cotter Force.

YOGA

We use a number of local Yoga instructors who have varying styles from Hatha & Vinyasa to Kundolini. Each class is tailored to suit every level from beginner to expert and designed to compliment the rest of the trip.

SUP

SUP or Stand Up Paddleboarding, is a water based activity. We use SUP Active Yorkshire for our sessions who provide expert instruction and guiding along with high quality kit hire. We offer beginner sessions which are lake based and open to anyone wanting to learn or improve their skills and also a 9 mile river SUP from Ripon to Boroughbridge which is suitable for those with some SUP experience and must be able to stand on the board.

GHYLL SCRAMBLING

Ghyll Scrambling is a guided activity where you will be given a harness, rope and helmet and be taken to a location deep in the Dales. You will be guided up a ghyll where you will scramble, slide, go around pools and navigate around rocks to work your way up. No previous experience required.

GORGE WALKING

This is a wet activity and the opposite to Ghyll Scrambling where you will be working your way down a gorge. You will be provided with wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids and you will slide and scramble downs rocks and jump into pools.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Our mountain bike trips are designed to be a relaxing exploration around the Dales with a local guide. High quality bikes will be provided along with helmets. A good level of fitness is required for this activity as you will be cycling all day with a lunchbreak.

WHITE WATER RAFTING

Usually done with a group of 8 people per raft, plus a rafting guide. Thick wetsuits and jackets along with buoyancy aids and helmets are provided. You will navigate a long stretch of river, bumping through rapids graded 3 and in some places 4. Expect to have loads of fun and get very wet!

HIKING

Our hikes are led by local expert Matt from Muddy Boots. He will take you on 3 hours guided walks around the Dales, offering local knowledge along the way. Hikes are suitable for all and will contain ascents, descents and some rough terrain so good walking shoes are recommended along with some level of fitness.

SURFING

Our Portugal Surf Lessons are all for beginners and you will start on the beach from scratch. A good level of fitness is beneficial and being able to push yourself up with your arms is essential. By the second lesson, you will be practising your techniques and improving. The beach where we will surf will have waves for beginner surfers.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING & SNOW SHOEING

Our winter adventures in the French Alps are super active and you will be accompanied by local instructors and guides with all kit provided. For Cross Country skiing, no previous ski experience is required, however a good level of fitness is recommended. You will be instructed on how to navigate pre marked tracks and explore many kilometres around the mountain. Snow shoeing is a much slower pace and you will be given racquettes to wear on your feet along with poles. The snow shoes make it much easier to walk in the snow.
